Recommended Colors
Soft, neutral colors (pictured) are recommended for your session, as they will place the focus on you and your baby, and look best with my editing style.
Colors to avoid: Black, Navy
These colors absorb light rather than reflect it and can cast shadows or detract from the subject of the photo.

Recommended Attire
(Examples can be seen on my Pinterest Board, linked at the bottom of this page.)
Mom Options
Outdoor:
- Midi or maxi dress that show's off the bump. This can be as fancy as a gown or as casual as a linen midi dress.
- Jumpsuit or overalls
- Casual options- Unbuttoned jeans and a bralette or crop top
(Shops: Check out Baltic Born, Free People, VICI, Chicaboo Boho Collection, search maternity gowns on Etsy)
On a budget? Amazon often has knock-off versions of popular dresses/gowns - just double check with me that it's a decent material/will photograph well.
In-home maternity session:
- Bralette or crop top & jeans
- Jumpsuit or overalls
- Maxi or midi dress
- You can also go extra cozy in a matching lounge/jogger set. There really isn't a right or wrong for how formal or informal you prefer to be with an in-home session.
Dad Options
Outdoor:
- Henley or T with colored neutral pants
- Sweater with neutral colored pants
- Stylish jackets if the weather is suitable (this can be a fun little prop for the session because he can wrap it around you, you can wear it yourself, etc.)
In-home maternity session:
- Options above, or go casual with a solid shirt & cozy sweats or joggers
Shops: try H&M, Bonobos, Old Navy
Toddler/Child Tips
Outdoor:
- Rompers/jumpers are helpful if you have a toddler in diapers because they don't ride up and show the diaper.
- Layers to add textures- cute sweaters and/or cardigans work well
- Cute but comfortable boots/shoes that they can walk in
In-home
- Romper/jumpsuit
- Matching sweater/lounge set
Client Closet
Below are dresses you are welcome to borrow for your session. You can also see these options on my Instagram account.
Note: You do NOT have to wear a dress for your session. I simply have dresses in my client closet as an option for those who like them but don't want to purchase one for a one-time photoshoot.

Tips for Prepping for your Session:
- Look at style inspiration on Pinterest, etc.
- Try on outfit/s before hand to make sure everything fits
- Leave time to iron - outfits/dresses are often very wrinkled after shipping
- Don't forget about shoes, if applicable
